Jackals (1,000 Points)
This is a v3.4.0 Battle-scale list you can build using the Kroot Hunting Pack box from 'Games Workshop', or any other models of your choice.
Jackals are a difficult army to use, and rely on movement tricks, ambush, and good terrain usage to be effective. They are also not a very shooty army outside of the Jackal Elites which have plenty of ranged weapon options to meet a variety of threats. Most Jackal units should focus on getting into close combat to take advantage of their Carnivore rule for +1 to hit in melee. This list has one veteran with Hidden Route (Ambush) which should be attached to one of the Nomad squads, and a Veteran Shaman (Caster(2)) that should be attached to the other Nomad Squad. The Great Beast is your best source of high AP attacks and should be send after enemy heavy infantry or vehicles, While the beast riders should support the Nomad squads to take out enemy threats. Try to choose your targets wisely with your Nomads since they are fragile, but good in close combat. Stick to terrain when possible, and use the Ambush rule to your advantage to select the best targets for attack. Your Shaman can adapt to a variety of situations, so look over the Jackal spell list and chose accordingly depending on your needs during battle.

Lean and Mean (1): Target 2 friendly units within 12" move +1" next time they Advance, or +2" next time they Rush/Charge. Feral Strike (1): Target enemy unit within 12" takes 2 hits with AP(2). Psy-Canines (2): Target 2 friendly units within 12" get AP(+1) next time they fight in melee. Quill Blast (2): Target enemy unit within 12” takes 8 hits. Shaper (3): Target 3 friendly units within 12" get Regeneration next time they take wounds. Power Maw (3): Target enemy unit within 12" takes 1 hit with AP(4) and Deadly(6). |
